Shutter Island (2010)


Starting the list with Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo's Shutter Island. Teddy Daniels(Leo) and Chuck Aule(Mark), two US Marshals are sent to a remote island to look for a missing patient from an asylum on that island, where Teddy uncovers a shocking truth about the place. The movie keeps you hooked up as the protagonist starts to uncover to secrets of the place, the suspense builds up nicely until the end where most minds are completely blown.

The Butterfly Effect (2004)

Based on the chaos theory, this movie starring Ashton Kutcher deals with many alternative narratives of the main character, and how a single act has multiple consequences into how things pan out. Just like any time-travel story, Evan(Ashton Kutcher) gets severe headaches that cause him to suffer blackouts. While unconscious, he can travel back in time and alter the past but this causes drastic changes in his present life. Love Time-travel movies? This is the movie to watch!

The Sixth Sense (1999)

This movie is infamous for its ending scene as it changes the whole perspective of the audience in just a couple for seconds. Malcolm Crowe(Bruce Wills), a child psychologist starts treating a young boy who becomes the medium of communication between Crowe and a slew of unhappy spirits around. A genuinely haunting thriller movie - this one leaves a person thinking about the same, even hours after watching the movie.

The Prestige (2006)

Starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, This movie is about two friends and fellow magicians that become bitter enemies after a sudden tragedy. As they devote themselves to this rivalry, they make sacrifices that bring them fame but with terrible consequences. This movie is Cinema at it's best. Being hooked with the building suspense until the end where everything goes south. A must watch!

Fight Club (1999)

The IMDb's top 10 movies of all time and our personal favorite, this movie won't let you off its hook even for a single second. Discontented with his capitalistic lifestyle, a white-collared insomniac forms an underground fight club with Tyler, a careless soap salesman. The project soon spirals down into something sinister. The movie will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout and the ending is astonishing it will keep you awake all night. A true masterpiece!
