Make the perfect burger at home! - RECIPE
Everyone loves a good burger, right? Soft & Tender patty with the choice of sauces and finished off with the choice of vegetables & properly toasted buns. But the last time we ate a burger from McDonald's it was just a dry patty above some lettuce finished off with regular mayo. And the buns were cold. Most famous fast food joints can't get their burger right. So today we bring to your kitchen the recipe to the perfect burger! And we want no one to miss out on this recipe so we have both VEGGIE BURGER & CHICKEN BURGER. Let's get started!
· 1 tablespoon(s) Oil
· ½ tablespoon(s) Butter
· ½ tablespoon(s) Ginger, chopped
· 2 green chillies, chopped
· 12-15 French beans, chopped
· Winter Carrot, chopped
· 2-3 large Potato, boiled, mashed
· ½ tsp Red chilli powder
· ¼ tsp Garam masala
· Salt to taste
· ½ tsp Ginger Garlic paste
· 2 tbsp Coriander leaves, chopped
· ½ cup All-purpose flour
· 1 cup fresh Breadcrumbs
● In a pan, add oil, butter, chopped ginger, green chilli saute well.
● Add chopped vegetables and sauté it well till they become soft.
● Mash the boiled potatoes and add to the pan mix well.
● Add red chilli powder, garam masala, salt to taste and ginger garlic paste and mix everything well.
● Now add chopped coriander and mix well.
● Remove the mixture in the bowl and keep it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes
● Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and start making patty.
● With the help of a cookie cutter or with your hands and give it a proper shape.
● Now add one of the patties, coat it with the breadcrumbs and coat it well.
Once the patty is well coated with the breadcrumbs, now is the time to fry it. The trick is to Fry the patty till it's not too hard & crisp and neither too soft & soggy. Heat oil in a pan and set the heat to medium-high. Place the patty and let it sizzle for around a minute. Keep an eye on the sides of the patty and do not flip unless the sides start turning brown. Flip the patty and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes, until completely cooked.
In another pan toast your buns(lol) till light brown and add some butter to grill the sliced onions alongside!
Adding cheese to a VEGGIE BURGER: The Veggie patty doesn't need alot of time on the pan so when it's about done, grate some cheese of your choice on the patty while it's in the pan. Cheese slices won't melt as fast!
Take the bottom half of bread and apply mayonnaise on it. Now place lettuce on it and sprinkle some salt then add sliced tomato and sprinkle salt and pepper. Place the Patty on it and the grilled onions again add some more mayonnaise on top and at last add cheese slice and close the burger with the bun.
1 onion, finely chopped
9 tablespoon(s) olive oil
1 clove of finely chopped garlic
salt & pepper to taste
1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1/4 bunch parsley, finely chopped
2 tablespoon(s) mint leaves, finely chopped
1 tablespoon(s) paprika, smoked
5-6 sprig(s) thyme
500 g ground chicken
Place a frying pan over high heat and let it get very hot.
Coarsely chop the onion and thinly slice the garlic.
Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan.
Add the onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Sauté.
Add the sugar and let it lightly caramelize.
When the onion softens and turns a little golden, remove from the heat and set aside.
Cut up the slices of bread and place them in a food processor along with the parsley, mint, sautéed onion mixture, paprika, and thyme.
Process until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Do not overbeat or else the mixture will become dough-like.
In a large bowl add the bread mixture, the ground chicken, 5 tablespoons of olive oil, the egg, salt, and pepper (seasoning optional).
Knead with your hands until all of the ingredients are well combined.
Place a non-stick pan or grill pan over medium heat and let it get very hot. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Shape the mixture into patties.
Once the patties are ready and the pan is super-hot, place the patty in the fan. You should hear the loud sizzle. Make sure the heat is set at medium so that the chicken gets cooked evenly. Cook one side for 3-4 minutes and then flip the patty. Continue cooking for 10-12mins.
Adding cheese to a CHICKEN BURGER: The chicken patty cooks for long at high heat so the best way to add cheese is to put a cheese slice of choice on top of the patty while it's cooking, put a little water in the pan and cover it (make sure the heat's at medium-high). The steam will melt the cheese thoroughly in the patty.
Toast the buns until lightly brown and crisp and top the bottom bun with any topping of your choice. Put on some lettuce. Lay down the Patty and top it up with some caramelized onions. And there you have the perfect Chicken Burger!
