New release date of movies pushed back due to COVID-19

Coronavirus has certainly ruined a lot of things, even a simple joy like going to the theatre to watch a movie. Several highly anticipated movies were set to release throughout 2020 but now that the coronavirus has its grip all over the world, those movies had to be pushed further for their release. Here are five of the most anticipated movies of 2020 with their new release dates.

1. Tenet

Starting with perhaps the most awaited film worldwide, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet was on its way towards a massive opening, until the pandemic got in the way. The movie’s release date has seen a change quite a few times now. Nolan himself dismissed the rumors of an online release of the movie on an OTT streaming service. Tenet is still expected to see a grand theatrical opening.

2. No Time to Die

Daniel Craig's final outing as 007, No time to die was the first major movie to delay its release. The movie has already had a lot of ups and downs, starting with uncertainty over Craig returning to play James Bond for another sequel, to having a change in directors. Spectre, the last Bond film was released 5 years ago in 2015 and everyone is eagerly waiting to see Craig giving life to the character one last time.

3. Wonder Woman 1984

Sequel to Wonder Woman (2017) was announced soon after the success of the film and the positive reviews it garnered from fans and critics alike. Patty Jenkins' directed was first set to be released in 2019 which the studio decided to move the release to June, 2020, but the pandemic made them push it back even further.

4. Black Widow

Sticking with the theme of female led superhero movies, Black widow was all set to ride the momentum of Avengers Endgame just like last year’s Spiderman: Far from home. An action packed movie with a great cast and also a rumoured appearance from Iron man himself. Fans will just have to wait for a little while longer for the next installment of MCU.

5. Fast and Furious 9 (F9)

While some believe 9 installments of a film is a lot, still there is no doubt that the Fast and the Furious series is loved by fans around the world. The makers have already promised a total of 10 films and the spin-off series of Hobbs & Shaw. F9 is also set to introduce John Cena as Dominic Toretto’s brother.
